  1. Draft constitution
  2. Demo of NeDICC web pages

Responsible

1. The constitution was discussed. The following decisions were made:

  • MvD confirmed that she has circulated the mission statement and requested feedback.
  • Susan Veldsman (ASSAf) will act as backup and alternative for Martie van Deventer (CSIR).
  • The rest of the steering committee will be kept informed and notified regarding meetings/events that they need to attend.
 
2. NeDICC WordPress site: Adèle van der Merwe demonstrated the word done to date. It was decided that she will continue to use WordPress to develop the NeDICC web presence. AvdM
3. The NeDICC conference of 2013 was discussed.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Martie van Deventer and Dale Peters (UKZN) will have a follow up meeting to ensure that the roles and responsibilities are well understood, especially ito the local organising committee (LOC)
  • Other responsibilities:
    • Susan Veldsman (Backup for Martie van Deventer)
    • Heila Pienaar
    • Wim Hugo
    • SKA KZN representative
    • Adèle van der Merwe (Secretary)
  • It was agreed that no call for papers will go out but that national and international speakers will be approached to present a paper. The focus group discussion will be based on the papers presented.
 
4 DIRISA

Martie van Deventer gave a brief overview regarding her involvement with DIRISA and the potential for NeDICC to develop a closer relationship.
